A delinquency prevention program for school-age children at Alisal Community, Frank Paul, and Sanborn Elementary Schools.
Many children in our East Salinas community are "at-risk", due to a lack of realistic alternatives to gang involvement, crime and substance abuse, especially during afterschool hours. The Extended Day Program is committed to providing the resources and promoting the skills necessary to prevent youth from making harmful choices. Extended Day participants are those (grades 1-6) who have been identified as living with challenging circumstances. Students are recruited to the Extended Day Program by teachers, school counselors, peers, parents, and the Extended Day Staff.

The Title V Project is a growing collaborative effort between the Alisal Union Extended Day Program, the City of Salinas, and other City and County Social/Community Service Agencies: Salinas Adult School, Healthy Start, Adult Reading Program, Sunrise House, Housing Authority, Probation Department, Family Resource Center, Recreation and Parks, Boys and Girls Club, YMCA, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and California State University Monterey Bay. The Title V grant is a three year plan which endeavors to identify and serve "at-risk" students and their families through a non-threatening multi-faceted support network.
