TRIANGULATION OF THE THREE MATRICES

The Matrix Evaluation Model is made up of three matrices; the Family Development Matrix, Community Scaling Tool, and Agency Development Matrix. Together, they make up the Service Delivery triangle pictured below:

While the social institutions to which these tools apply are different, they have crucial elements in common. The primary components they share are:

1. Status Levels ranging from In-Crisis to Thriving, with a scale from one (1) to five (5); and

2. Outcome Categories that, while different for each matrix, comprise the universe of functioning for the entity for which they are used (family, agency or community).

Relevant Outcome Categories used in connection with common Status Levels combine to create a ladder-and-scale methodology for the collection of parallel and complementary data.
