The Institute for Community Collaborative Studies faculty, students and staff play an active and integrative role in the surrounding communities. Through grant-funded and contractual projects, working with community representatives and health and human service professionals, ICCS collaborates in problem solving, building community leadership and policy development towards integrated health and human services systems and outcome evaluation models throughout the Monterey Bay area.

A fine example of the work done by ICCS can be seen in the Matrix Outcomes Model. This model provides a set of complementary assessment, case management and evaluation tools, enabling health and human service providers to both empower and track individual, family, agency, and community outcomes over time and in a way that allows for the complexity of the challenges they face.
