The Institute for Community Collaborative Studies faculty, students and staff play an active and integrative role in the surrounding communities. Through grant-funded and contractual projects, working with community representatives and health and human service professionals, ICCS collaborates in problem solving, building community leadership and policy development towards integrated health and human services systems and outcome evaluation models throughout the Monterey Bay area.

The Matrix Outcomes Model
The Matrix Outcomes Model is a tool which when implemented, is able to document and track the well-being and stability of families,
agencies, and community functioning. It is comprised of three complementary ladder-and-scale evaluation instruments called the 1)
Family Development Matrix, 2) Agency Development Matrix, and 3) Community Scaling Tool.

Castroville Community Survey (2006-07) (pdf)
The Castroville Community Survey (2006-07) was funded by the California Endowment and led by the
Castroville Leadership Council. ICCS conducted the survey to identify community member prespective of
the relations with law enforcement and the need for family-based services. |

Monterey County Health Literacy Study
Health Literacy Matters: Health literacy is about accessing medical information, communication and
understanding, and taking health-related action, so much more than just having the ability to read medical information.
The purpose is to study the health literacy barriers to navigating the health care system faced by Monterey County's
diverse and low-income population. |

Regional Report On Welfare Reform
In response to the mandate for reform of the welfare system, the Institute for Community Collaborative Studies received a one-year grant from the California Endowment to provide community organization and technical assistance to organize a "voice" for five communities in the counties of Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz.

Stuart Foundation Interprofessional Education Grant
The Institute for Community Collaborative Studies has been funded by the Stuart Foundation to identify interprofessional competencies needed by entry-level human service professionals. |

South Santa Clara County Wraparound for Latino Children and Youth
A federally funded (SAMHSA) collaborative project between ICCS, community representatives, and health and human services providers in Santa Clara County. Its purpose is to develop consensus on best practices to establish a community-based and culturally appropriate set of standards and practices to address issues of substance abuse and mental health. |
