120 - MAMMOGRAM EXAMINATION - Patient receives a radiologic examination by a State and FDA certified facility. Document patient information to ensure notification of results within 10 days if abnormal results or 20 days if normal results.
120.1 Provide breast self exam instructions in appropriate languages including mammogram frequency guidelines. Attempt to reduce fears by stressing importance of screening, rescreening and follow-up.
120.2 Increase emphasis regarding better prognosis with early detection and treatment.
120.3 Provide complete and updated information on transportation systems and alternatives available in the community and assist in accessing transportation when needed.
