CHHS challenged me to look into myself and reflect on things that I had never been asked to reflect on before. I can truly say that CHHS has made the person I am today as well as the person I will be in the community tomorrow.

Being part of CSUMB and the CHHS major has been an eye opening experience for me. I have not only had the opportunity to learn about the diversity of our community, but I have also had the privilege to experience it through the field placement program. I cannot think of any other program that would give me what the CHHS program has given me - a true sense of where I belong. Of course, none of this would be possible without the knowledge and dedication of the faculty and staff that make up the CHHS program.

With CHHS I have gained the confidence and helpful tools inside and outside the classroom that I need to become an advocate (future K-12 school or college counselor) in my community. The 400 hands-on service learning experience is worth having to prepare for the real world out there. Graduate schools and jobs want to see the hands-on experience one has been exposed to and CHHS, its staff, and faculty have given me that.
